My Honest Review of Flying With Singapore Airline
When it comes to long-haul flights, comfort, service, and reliability make all the difference. Recently, I had the opportunity to fly with Singapore Airlines on a 12-hour journey from London to Singapore, and I wanted to share my honest, no-fluff review so you can decide if it’s worth your money.

1. Booking Process & Pricing
Singapore Airlines’ website is clean, easy to navigate, and surprisingly transparent about costs. While they’re not usually the cheapest option, I found a competitive fare by booking about four months in advance. The fare included checked luggage, meals, and seat selection, which is refreshing in today’s era of hidden fees.
💡 Tip: Check their seasonal promotions and partner airline deals. Sometimes, you can find discounts when booking through codeshare partners like Lufthansa or Turkish Airlines.
2. Check-In & Boarding
I used the mobile check-in feature, which took less than five minutes. At the airport, the check-in counters were well-staffed, and the process was quick. Boarding was orderly, with priority given to families, premium class passengers, and elite members. Unlike some airlines, there was no chaotic crowding at the gate.
3. Cabin Comfort
I flew Economy Class but honestly felt like I got a premium economy experience.
Seat pitch: 32 inches — plenty of legroom compared to many competitors.
Seat width: 18 inches, comfortable enough for long hours.
Adjustable headrests and footrests made a big difference.
The cabin design felt airy, modern, and spotless. They also provided a small amenity kit with socks, an eye mask, and a toothbrush — a small but appreciated touch.
4. In-Flight Entertainment
Singapore Airlines is famous for its KrisWorld entertainment system, and it lived up to the hype.
Over 1,800 movies, TV shows, and music options.
A responsive, large touchscreen in every seat.
USB and universal power outlets available.
I loved that the system included flight path tracking with real-time updates, perfect for keeping tabs on our progress.
5. Meals & Drinks
The food was a pleasant surprise.
Two hot meal services on the 12-hour flight.
Options included chicken rice, beef rendang, or vegetarian pasta.
Complimentary wine, beer, and soft drinks.
The flavors were fresh, and the presentation was better than most airlines. Even the bread roll wasn’t rock hard — a miracle in the skies.
6. Service
This is where Singapore Airlines really shines. The cabin crew were attentive without being intrusive, remembering passengers’ names in Business Class and still offering personalized touches in Economy. They came by regularly with water and snacks and handled requests with genuine warmth.
7. Punctuality
We departed and arrived on time, with minimal turbulence and smooth communication from the pilots.
8. Overall Impression
Singapore Airlines is not always the cheapest, but it delivers consistent quality, making it worth the extra money for long-haul comfort. From the booking process to landing, every detail felt carefully considered.
✅ Pros:
Exceptional service and hospitality.
Comfortable economy seating.
Excellent entertainment and meal quality.
❌ Cons:
Premium price compared to budget carriers.
Limited Wi-Fi data unless you pay extra.
Final Verdict
If you’re flying long-haul, especially to or from Asia, Singapore Airlines is one of the best choices available. Their attention to detail, cleanliness, and passenger comfort truly set them apart.
