Ingredients (1 serving):
2 oz (60 ml) white rum
1 oz (30 ml) coconut cream (not coconut milk!)
1 oz (30 ml) heavy cream (optional, for a richer texture)
6 oz (180 ml) fresh pineapple juice
½ cup fresh or frozen pineapple chunks (optional, for thickness)
2 cups crushed ice
Garnish:
Pineapple wedge
Maraschino cherry
(Optional: A tiny cocktail umbrella 🌴)
Equipment Needed:
Blender
Jigger or measuring tool
Hurricane or highball glass
Instructions:
Add all ingredients to a blender:
2 oz white rum
1 oz coconut cream
1 oz heavy cream (optional)
6 oz pineapple juice
½ cup pineapple chunks
2 cups crushed ice
Blend until smooth and frothy—about 30–45 seconds.
Pour into a chilled glass—a hurricane glass is traditional, but any tall glass works.
Garnish with a pineapple wedge and maraschino cherry. Add a festive umbrella for full island vibes.
🥥 Tips for the Perfect Piña Colada:
Use cream of coconut (like Coco López), not unsweetened coconut milk.
For a lighter version, skip the heavy cream.
Want a frozen mocktail version? Just leave out the rum!
Add a splash of dark rum on top (a "float") for extra depth and presentation.
