🥂 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
1 bottle (750 ml) dry Spanish red wine (Tempranillo, Garnacha, or Rioja work beautifully)
1/4 cup brandy (adds depth and a warming kick)
1/4 cup orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
1/4 cup sugar (or to taste)
1 orange, thinly sliced
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 lime, thinly sliced
1 apple, cored and diced
1–2 cups soda water or lemon-lime soda (to top and add fizz)
Optional: a cinnamon stick or splash of pomegranate juice for extra depth
🍹 Step-by-Step Instructions
Mix the Base
In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, and orange liqueur. Stir gently.
Sweeten It
Add the sugar and stir until fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.
Add the Fruit
Drop in the sliced orange, lemon, lime, and apple. The fruits will soak up the flavors and release their juices.
Chill
Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is even better) to let the flavors meld.
Serve
Just before serving, add soda water (or lemon-lime soda if you prefer a sweeter finish). Stir gently.
Garnish & Enjoy
Serve in wine glasses over ice, with a slice of citrus or apple as garnish.
🌟 Tips for the Perfect Sangria
Use a fruity but dry Spanish wine — avoid overly expensive bottles since the fruit and mixers are key.
Chill thoroughly — sangria tastes best when the fruits have time to infuse.
Get creative: add berries, peaches, or even a splash of sparkling wine for variation.
